MA Design for Communication

In todays workshop we had to pick a word from a piece of card and create a 3D lettering for it using the materials we were given - the word I picked was 'Decorative' and the material I was given was fluffly pipe cleaners. Below is how my final piece looked:


Similar to the creative lettering workshop task we had a few weeks ago for the film posters, we had to try make the words we had chosen expressive using only the materials we were given. As you can see for most of the letters I was intent on wrapping two or more pipe cleaners together in order to create that 'decorative pattern' and the letter itself and at the end I decided to sprinkle some of the pipes material like the fluff and the tinsel for example over the entire word, again to emphasise the word.
